Project Overview
We were assigned a project to create six smartwatch UI screens which would showcase any type of content we like i.e water intake, payments, etc.
Research
My research for this project began with mind-mapping ideas of the content I could show on the screens. I chose to go with a safety app , aimed for women which lead me to look at existing safety apps and although there are quite a few, there is none that are compatible with smart watches.
Sketches/Wireframes
After I conducted my research I moved on to create sketches and I had so many ideas that I tried to make fit into one tiny device, which ended up not working and was overall impracticable. I then simplified my sketches and I was very happy with those so I moved on to making them into wireframes.
Lo-fi Mockups
Once I was happy with my wireframes I started to create low resolution mockups of the UI. So adding colour, typography and overall , paying closer attention to the design aspect the UI.
High Resolution Poster
With the use of my lo-fi mockups I fixed them up a bit and turned them into high resolution mockups by perfecting the alinement, text size, colour and much more. Which I then took, and made into a poster that walked through and explained each of the screens.
